Shadow & Light is a 4-week set of installations, performances and workshops on the theme of shadows and light. Pieces will include projection, shadow-scapes, electronics, light drawings, film-patterns, slides… weaving the structure of a beautiful old mill into a light diorama of spaces.
The art of the ephemeral, shadows, light, has been a fascination of modern art, whether in the films of Ingmar Bergman or Moholy-Nagy’s Light Space Modulator (1920-30). More…
The artwork as a process, of evolving and layering meanings over time to create a connection with a place, forms a contextual relationship that situates a work of art.
Taking place over a 4-week period this summer in the South of Sweden, a group of local artists and their friends will participate in a series of installations and workshops that explore and evolve the theme of Shadow & Light. The work will begin with an Opening Party on Saturday 10th July, during which time the artists will present individual pieces and narratives. Every week a new event will take place, some working with the public, others installing a piece of their own. Each Saturday evening there will be a performance responding to the particular installations created that week. All works will be on sale, from small handmade items to digital projections!
Shadow & Light takes place at the Kulturmöllan in Lövestad, South Sweden.
